By2026, EkoStay hopes to have expanded its footprint in southern India with a 40-villa boutique hospitality cluster in the Nilgiris region. Popular hill towns like Ooty, Kotagiri, and Coonoor will be a part of the development.
The growth is in line with the company’s plans to fortify its foothold in the rapidly expanding alternative lodging and experiential travel market in India. More than 150 villas are under EkoStay’s management nationwide at the moment.
The company is now working on eleven villas, ranging in size from two to five bedrooms, for the Nilgiris project. The first four residences are up and running, with the remaining villas set to launch between the middle and end of June 2026. Under the Pines, Dawn Villa, and Dusk Villa are some of the homes in the portfolio that are ideal for couples or small groups looking for a more secluded and eco-conscious vacation. Multiple villas have been renovated and upgraded to meet the company’s hospitality standards, according to the company.
When designing the Nilgiris properties, EkoStay also used visualisation techniques that were supported by AI. Prior to adoption, the technology was utilised to bolster ideas, plans, and improvements in the hospitality industry that pertain to interior design.
The Nilgiris has always had a very timeless and emotive appeal for tourists since the experience here goes well beyond tourism,” commented Zishan Khan, Chief Acquisition Officer & Co-Founder, EkoStay, with regards to the expansion. The emphasis is on taking it easy, getting back to nature, and enjoying the rustic alpine hospitality that is all too scarce in modern life.
He went on to say that the planned cluster of forty villas is a major step toward the company’s long-term growth goals and a reflection of the rising demand for intimate, immersive, and experience-driven lodgings.
Since its inception in 2018, EkoStay has been steadily increasing the number of vacation homes and boutique villa stays that it offers in various leisure areas across India.
