Food Safety Supervisor Training in Advance Catering (FoSTaC) was held in Mumbai by the Hotel and Restaurant Association (Western India) (HRAWI). Trainer from Parikshan FSS Pvt Ltd., Dr. V. Pasupathy, oversaw the training session at the Hotel Marine Plaza. Important components of food safety, such as proper handling, cleanliness, sanitation, and waste management, were the emphasis of the program.
Thirty leaders in the hotel sector attended the event, where they learned concrete ways to improve food safety procedures and uphold industry standards in their daily work.
Inaugurating the training session were Dr. V. Pasupathy, Osden Henriques, Vaishali Savale, and Adhir Vinod Dabholkar from Silent Hills Resort Pvt Ltd. and the Hotel Marine Plaza, respectively.
Educating the public about the importance of food safety and providing training to those working in the hospitality industry so that they can meet regulatory requirements and industry standards is the stated goal of the FoSTaC program, according to HRAWI.
According to the association, 3,870 individuals have been trained and certified in the hospitality industry through FoSTaC and the Management Training Programme of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), which helps to uphold food safety standards in the industry as a whole.
