More than eight hundred fifty young Indians have benefited from the Youth Skilling Initiative, thanks to the joint efforts of the Radisson Hotel Group, the Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council, and The Job Plus. Six hundred and sixteen participants received NSS-based training and certification in the first two stages of the program, and fifty-one found employment in the hospitality industry in various Indian hotel chains. Women made up over 50% of the finalist pool.
Our firm belief at Radisson Hotel Group is that the hospitality industry has the potential to be a catalyst for positive economic and social change. In eight states—Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Jammu & Kashmir, West Bengal, Delhi NCR, Himachal Pradesh, and Telangana—we have had the pleasure of collaborating with THSC and The Job Plus to affect more than 850 youth. It is encouraging to see that rural youth participating in the initiative achieve an 87 percent placement rate, as the program has focused on regions where access to formal skilling and employment opportunities remains limited. The results have proven our dedication to creating a diverse and prepared hospitality workforce in India for the future, according to Nikhil Sharma, Managing Director & COO, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group.
Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Jammu & Kashmir, West Bengal, Delhi NCR, Himachal Pradesh, and Telangana are some of the underprivileged areas that have been supported by the initiative. The business claims that an 87% placement rate was attained by the program’s rural youth participants.
Radisson Hotel Group’s unwavering support for The Job Plus is encouraging and motivating. In our previous two project cycles, we proved that young people can achieve long-term economic mobility and scalable employment opportunities when their skill sets are in line with what employers are looking for. In a statement made by Natwar Nagar, Founder of The Job Plus, the organization expressed its renewed commitment to reaching more people and building a talent pipeline that benefits both the hospitality industry and underprivileged youth.
We are dedicated to helping young people get the skills they need, getting them experience in the field, and finding them jobs that matter, and our CSR initiatives and partnerships reflect that. Our partnership with Radisson Hotel Group will continue to help people learn new skills and work together for a better future in the hospitality industry. Rajan Bahadur, CEO of THSC, stated that partnerships like these are crucial in helping to close the skills gap and create jobs, all while fostering the development of a hospitality industry that is prepared for the future.
