The MioPods.Space boasts that its on-demand private workspaces at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport are the first of their kind in India, providing travellers with a place to work while they wait for their flights.
The initial deployment features four private pods situated near boarding gates 9 and 10. These pods are perfect for travellers who need a quiet place to work, have a meeting, or make a call while in transit.
Regular fliers, business travellers, entrepreneurs, and telecommuters are the target audience for this service. A QR-code system allows users access to the pods; they can reserve slots up to seven days in advance or book instantly at the airport. Currently, a 30-minute session starts at Rs 299.
Everything you need is in one pod: acoustically treated walls, lighting, seating, charging ports, ventilation, and Internet of Things (IoT) access. According to the startup, the pods are made and designed in India.
During the launch, MioPods founder Vikas Sethia spoke.”Travel in the modern day is about more than just getting from A to B,” Space remarked. Between flights, people are working, attending meetings, making important calls, and managing their professional and personal responsibilities while constantly on the go. With MioPods, we aimed to make that process more refined, discrete, and purposeful.
The launch is in line with the rising need for travel infrastructure that prioritises productivity, given the increasing overlap between personal and business travel. Next, MioPods made its debut in Hyderabad.Discussions are underway for Space to expand to other major airports, such as Delhi and Mumbai.
