Supporting individuals from economically deprived groups and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), the LaLiT Suri Hospitality Group has started a skilling and employment project in cooperation with Sofiya NGO and the Keshav Suri Foundation.
Acquiring marketable skills and expanding participation in formal employment possibilities are the primary goals of the program. Its goals include encouraging more people to join the hotel industry’s employment and creating a more inclusive talent pipeline.
All areas of the hotel’s operations, from the front desk to housekeeping, linen and tailoring, baking, food and beverage production, and in-room dining, were covered in the practical training that participants received. Personal preferences, skills, and degree of comfort were the determining factors in placements.
The initiative’s goals included preparing participants for the workforce, fostering independence, and boosting confidence in addition to technical instruction. At the Mustafabad location of the Sofiya NGO, the LaLiT team provided behavioural preparedness sessions and foundational training to bolster the program, and the Keshav Suri Foundation arranged for mobility assistance and advocacy.
Our idea that inclusivity must translate into practical action is reflected in this effort,” Keshav Suri stated while speaking about it. Making ensuring no neighbourhood is left behind is our mission and our commitment. People not only improve their personal lives when given the chance, but they also make significant contributions to the advancement of their country.
The initiative has also created pathways for long-term employment, with recommendations for successful interns to move into permanent roles. This further demonstrated the importance of accessible infrastructure, inclusive facilities, and transportation assistance in order to expand these types of programs nationwide.
